1. Accepting these Terms
By using Burden, creating an account, or buying Burden Plus, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract to purchase Plus.
2. What Burden is—and is not
Burden is a planning tool that models how a purchase may affect a personal or household budget. It is not a bank, lender, credit counsellor, financial adviser, accountant, lawyer, insurer, retailer, product authenticator, or emergency service. Results are estimates based on information you provide and category assumptions. They are not a guarantee that a purchase is affordable, safe, authentic, available, or suitable.
You remain responsible for the final decision, checking product facts, taxes, fees, financing terms, warranties, return rules, and obtaining professional advice when needed.
3. Free and Plus access
Burden Free includes up to three complete purchase checks per calendar month. Burden Plus includes unlimited complete checks and the Plus features shown at checkout. Feature details may improve over time, but Burden will not materially remove a paid core feature during a paid period without reasonable notice.
4. Subscription agreement
Burden Plus is an automatically renewing monthly subscription with no free trial. Website checkout is priced at US$5.99 per month, plus tax where required, and is processed by Stripe. In the native iPhone app, Apple shows and charges the price in your App Store storefront’s currency. The renewal frequency, amount, currency, and cancellation method are shown before payment. Additional terms are in the Billing & Refund Policy.
5. Accounts and acceptable use
Keep access to your account secure and provide accurate information. You may not misuse Burden, interfere with its operation, scrape or reverse engineer it except where law expressly permits, evade usage limits, test stolen payment methods, upload unlawful content, or use the service to harm another person.
6. Referrals and partners
Burden may attribute a subscription to an approved partner when you arrive through that partner’s link. This does not increase your subscription price or give the partner access to your private purchase inputs, income, bills, savings, account, or payment information. Partners must follow the separate Founding Partner Rules.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of information you submit. You give Burden a limited permission to process it only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service under the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to submit product links and other content.
8. Availability and changes
Burden may fix, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. The service may occasionally be unavailable. Burden may suspend an account for fraud, abuse, security risk, non-payment, or a serious breach of these Terms, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Burden is provided “as is” and “as available” without implied guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Burden is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from a purchase decision, missed return date, product failure, financing cost, lost data, or interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, Burden’s aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid Burden in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms removes a warranty, remedy, or consumer right that applicable law does not allow Burden to exclude or limit.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without excluding mandatory protections that apply where you live. Before filing a claim, contact imanuelmarji345@gmail.com and give Burden a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. You may also use any consumer-protection process available in your jurisdiction.
