YOUR INFORMATION

Privacy, without the fog.

Burden is built to examine a purchase without building a profile of your private household finances. This policy explains what stays on your device, what Burden receives, and the choices you have.

Effective September 1, 2026 · Burden is operated from Ontario, Canada and serves customers in Canada and the United States.

1. Who is responsible

Burden is operated from Ontario, Canada. The Burden owner is accountable for the personal information handled by the service. Privacy, access, correction, deletion, or consent-withdrawal requests can be sent to imanuelmarji345@gmail.com.

2. The numbers that stay on your device

Your money available, individual bill amounts, essentials estimate, expected pay, and protected minimum are calculated locally. The website keeps those amounts in your browser. The native iPhone app stores its draft and Purchase Locker only on the device with iOS file protection and asks iOS to verify Face ID or the device passcode before showing the Locker. Burden does not receive biometric data.

Clearing browser data, deleting the native app, or changing devices can remove device-only information.

3. Information Burden receives

The first native iPhone version does not transmit purchase inputs, detailed financial amounts, Locker decisions, notification status, or the local free-check counter to Burden. Apple processes App Store subscriptions under Apple’s terms and supplies Burden with normal developer sales and subscription reporting.

The following applies when you use Burden’s website, accounts, partner program, or direct support:

  • Product and decision information: item name, price, payment method, payday date, verdict, before-payday buffer or shortfall, and safe-price result when you deliberately save a website check.
  • Account information: when you sign in, the account provider supplies an account identifier, email address, and available display name.
  • Saved website decisions: the limited decision summary described above, whether a voluntary 48-hour pause is active, and its start, end, or outcome.
  • Billing records: subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, price identifier, referral attribution, and billing-period dates. Burden does not receive or store your full card number.
  • Beta and product measurement: a random browser identifier, pages or features used, signup source, general campaign attribution, feedback, and optional contact email.
  • Founder or mobile-app interest: email address, consent record, signup date, and signup source when you choose to join.
  • Partner program: applicant name, email, public profile, platform, content category, approximate audience, selected partner code, application status, attributed activity, and commission records.
  • Support: the email address, message, and technical details you choose to send when requesting help.
  • Technical information: normal request information needed to deliver and secure the website, which can include IP address, browser type, device type, timestamps, and error or security logs handled by hosting providers.

4. Why the information is used

Burden uses information to run the purchase check, authenticate accounts, save decisions, enforce Free and Plus limits, activate subscriptions, attribute eligible partner referrals, calculate commissions, provide billing support, prevent abuse, measure whether the product is useful, respond to requests, and improve reliability. A first-party partner referral record may remain for 30 days after a partner-link visit. Burden does not sell personal information or use private household numbers for advertising.

5. Service providers and international processing

Burden relies on service providers to host the app and database, authenticate accounts, process payments, deliver security controls, and operate infrastructure. Stripe processes checkout and payment information under its own privacy terms. These providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries where they operate, where local authorities may lawfully access it.

6. Consent, email, and your choices

Burden asks for consent when you join the Founder or app-launch list. That consent covers the stated launch message—not a general newsletter. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying to a Burden message or contacting the address above. Commercial messages will identify Burden and include a no-cost unsubscribe method.

7. Retention and deletion

Burden keeps account, saved-decision, subscription, consent, and support records only as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting duties, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and understand product performance. You can delete individual saved decisions inside the Purchase Locker. You may request access, correction, export where available, or deletion of other personal information. Some billing or security records may be retained when required by law or legitimate recordkeeping obligations.

8. Security and children

Burden uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can promise perfect security. Do not submit information you do not want processed. A person must be at least 18 to purchase Burden Plus. Children under 13 must not create an account or submit personal information.

9. Canada and United States rights

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to withdraw consent or appeal a response. Burden will handle verified requests under the law that applies to you and will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

10. Changes

If Burden makes a material change to how personal information is used or shared, it will update this page and seek new consent where required. The effective date above shows the current version.
