Run a purchase check
Enter the item and price, choose how you would pay, then add only the money and obligations between today and your next payday. The purchase amount due before payday must be greater than zero. Burden will show the first shortfall, the estimated before-payday buffer, and the maximum price that preserves the balance you chose.
Your private numbers
The native iPhone app keeps detailed cash, bills, income, essentials, and protected-minimum amounts on the device. Its Purchase Locker is protected by Face ID or the device passcode. The website explains separately when limited account or saved-decision information is sent to Burden in the Privacy Policy.
48-hour reminders
A pause is voluntary. Burden remains fully usable during all 48 hours and never blocks a store, card, or purchase. If a reminder does not arrive, open iPhone Settings, choose Notifications, select Burden, and allow notifications. The saved pause remains in the Purchase Locker even when notifications are off.
Face ID or passcode
Burden asks iOS to verify the device owner before opening the Purchase Locker. Burden never receives or stores Face ID data. If authentication is unavailable, confirm that the iPhone has Face ID, Touch ID, or a device passcode enabled.
Free-check limit
Burden Free includes three new purchase sessions per calendar month. Changing the numbers and rerunning the same session does not consume another check. Burden Plus removes the check limit and unlocks unlimited Locker history and purchase pauses.
Subscription help
For an iPhone subscription, use Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → Burden to view or cancel Plus. Use Restore Purchases inside Burden when an active Apple subscription does not appear. Website subscriptions are managed through the Stripe billing portal after signing in. See Billing & refunds for the differences.
Delete information
Delete a saved decision from the Purchase Locker. Removing the native app deletes its on-device draft and Locker data. For website account, access, correction, or deletion requests, email the address below from the account email where possible.
